Walmart Price Match -Case Lot Sales

This past week there have been Case Lot sales going on. This is a great time to price match at Walmart for a few reasons:
1. Low price per each on items
2. If you don't need 48 cans of Tuna, you can just buy what you need.
3. If you only have enough coupons for a few, then just get a few.

This trip was all price matched from the Smith's Case Lot ad (still going on through 09/20) . In order to price match you will need to bring the ad to the store. Here the break down.

Bumble Bee Tuna - Smith's Case Lot 65¢ per can
Used $1/2 Bumble Bee Tuna printed from www.recyclebank.com
= 15¢ per can

Campbell's Chicken Noodle or Tomato Soup - Smith's Case Lot 59¢ per can
Used $1/5 Campbell's Condensed Soups printed from www.campbellskitchen.com
= 39¢ per can

Libby's Can Veggies - Smith's Case Lot 2/$1 (50¢ each)
Used $1/4 Libby's Can Veggie from Red Plum on 08/28/11
(Red Plum Coupons usually come to people in the mail on Tuesdays)
= 25¢ per can

Planter's Peanut Butter - Smith's Case Lot $1.39 each
Used 75¢ off One Jar from Smart Source on 08/21/11
(Smart Source Coupons come in the Sunday paper)
= 64¢ per jar

Learning the Basics of Couponing

There are so many great resources out there on how to coupon. One that I used when I was getting started was the ABC's of Couponing. Here are a couple of basics:

Coupons are available in three main places: newspapers, mail (Red Plum comes on Tuesday) and internet site.
Don't feel like you are cheating the stores when you use coupons to get a good deal. Stores get reimbursed from manufacture coupons.
Prices/Deals vary by region. Just because you see a deal online, doesn't always mean that it will be the case at your location.

Take a look and see what you can learn.

Coupon Database

One tool that I have started to utilize is a coupon database. A coupon database is a list of just about every coupon available anywhere. I have been using the one from Cuckoo for Coupon Deals. It is easy to search and makes quick work of coupon hunting. For example, if there is a sale on Colgate Toothpaste, I just search Colgate and it brings up every coupon available and where to find it. Try it out and post your favorite coupon find.

Why I am starting this blog

Welcome to my Savings Blog. I decided to start a blog for my couponing because I have found so much enjoyment and fun from my experiences. I started couponing in June 2011 and fell in love with it. It has become my new hobby. I want to use this blog to help my friends and family learn what I have learned about how to save. I won't be updating this blog everyday, I plan to use it as a resource for other and a place to post my saving. The reason that I coupon:

"I coupon to save money on the things I have to buy,
so I can spend money on the things I want to buy."

Everyone is different and this blog is just what I do. Hope you enjoy and learn what works for you.
